The Elders of the congregations make for the worst possible "shepards".

the main goal of a shepard, is to keep the flock as safe as possible.

the loss of just a single sheep, could be devastating to a flock, and a shepards financial well being.

every sheep is valuable, from a monetary stanpoint, and future strength of the flock.

are there really 8 million jw's?

last circuit assembly there was 700+ present and 1 baptized.. recently there was a foreign language assemble of over 500 and 1 baptized.. in the last 5-10 years i haven't been to one assembly where there has been more than a handful baptized.

at the memorial all i see are the same old faces that have been coming since the flood.. the hall complex i attend has 6 congregation and several groups-there is negative growth.

when you factor in the demographically aging folk and the many who have already passed away, i don't know where they get the 8 million.. i know that most of the growth is from the developing countries, but still i think they are fudging their numbers.

stocks & shares

i just thought of something the wt is allowed to take a gamble with all our contrabutions on the stocks & shares market, but don't you buy a lottery ticket or we will disfellowship you.

Sabin I think the G.B cover the stocks and shares issue by saying it's not actually gambling.

We had a brother who did stocks and shares very impressivly for a while, then not so impressively. My point being whilst buying a lottery ticket is classified as greed, stocks and share is seen as investment.

My personal advice to any poster is that investing in property is much safer. Also transferring currency from one country to another can be very proffitable. With stocks and shares its often because you have limited funds, and dependent on who you know,

I am sure large companies investing in stocks and shares, spread the risk and have exsperienced advisers. In my option big business and religion is simply big business, and the products the money gets invested in are often highly immoral.

Anyway the G.B argument doesn't hold and buying a lottery ticket does not make a person any more greedy than any other form of investment.

Smiddy, you and your wife enjoy your flatters and have fun. If you have a budget to have fun,what is the difference between having a flatter on the horses and playing golf?

how do i feel about this?.

too much doubt.. shame on you people who are responsible for putting richard to death.. richard is scheduled to be put to death in oklahoma at 3pm on september 16th by lethal injection.

i have followed this case and feel like so many people very bad about this.

since the move, it has been so enjoyable to not have jw's breathing down our necks asking why we didn't make the meeting, or having to pretend to be "spiritual" in front of family all the time.. 90% of my week is virtually stress free.

then, my mom calls or texts wanting to talk to her grandkids.

every dang call, she asks about the new congregation, if we went to the meeting, etc.. why can't i tell her to fk off?

Has NASA discoverd flowing water on Mars?

nasa is holding a press conference today entiltled " mars mystery solved".

speculation is they will announce the discovery of flowing water on mars?.

the significance of this is that it raises the possibility of possible past life or future existence on the planet.. the rebel..

Ok it wasn't funny.

But that is not to say what I write now was once reality and not fiction.

On the planet Mars, 2 million years ago water was running dry. This a planet once flowing with more water than the Atlantic Ocean. (That fact came from NASAs conference yesterday)

Two million years ago his name was Micca. Micca was from Mars, and he was in charge of space research on behalf of the Mars Ministry, His mission to seek out another planet that marsians could live on as the streams and water on Mars run dry ( This non fact is from my own imagination and has nothing to do with NASAs conference yesterday)

But maybe that explains life on Earth?

Anyway it's fun to think that my ancestors were Micca, or at least they are out there somewhere.

Would that make Micca my God?

Anyway my thinking about what happened two billion or even only two million years ago, is why I am still waiting to be discharged from the mental hospital.

In a 3-2 decision the Oaklahoma court of criminal appeal, yesterday ruled the state can proceed with Richards Glossips execution (tomorrow) Wednesday.

So 3 judges say yes and 2 judges say no. Not exactly unanimous was it?

hello, lurkers and curious.

i imagine you're reading this because either you think you can defend your beliefs victoriously or you have doubts.. i have 2 questions that i hope you can log in and answer (no one will know who you are unless you tell them or leave your page open for others to see).

1. what actual worship did you do at the meetings or gatherings?.

Well Punk, as an ex -lurker, I hope it's ok I answer your questions.😀

Q) What actual worship did you do at the meetings or gatherings?

A) Ego.

Q) what do ( did) you actually take away with you in a "spiritual" sence from the meetings and gatherings?

A) A feeling of belonging and being involved. But I have taken away similar feelings not on a spiritual basis but by attending football matches and rock concerts.

And that's life. we want to belong so the congregation is like our football team, and " true supporters" are there through the good times and the bad times. Now the owners of football clubs are the G.B. The star players in the team are the Elders. And you know what neither care about the supporters.

Now great football teams have local rivals, as witnesses we called them " false Christians". The only difference is football owners, star players, and supporters can change teams with out being completely hated.

Anyway the way I see the witness organisation, is that it's a team on the down, no longer playing for the title, instead fighting a regulation battle and only the most loyal supporters remain.
